Do you suggest that if only asthmatics would rely on God for them to be able to breathe naturally there wouldnt be any need for inhalers or ventilators??

And if God doesnt happen to open their airway while they are experiencing trouble with health breathing fucntionwell, that is just the way God meant things to be?

  • Lucyisfive says:

So by your reasoning and logic all medical problems then should be up to God to heal/not heal (or such as open or close a womb)…and so people should avoid all medical treament and leave it up to God. Right?

They should trust his judgment if they should live, die, be ill, in pain, blind, sighted, fertile or infertile.

Surely, you wouldn’t suggest that the reproductive system is different from every other bodily system and only it is “up to God” if it should function or not right?

  • Lucyisfive says:

Embryos are not implanted into the uterus, they are TRANSFERRED to the uterus in the hopes that the biological process of implantation occurs and the embryo thrives to become a viable pregnancy.

Despite rare cases, the average number of embryos transferred is 2, yes more sometimes are transferred, and sometimes less. Patients can choose less and many do.

If IVF was standard covered medical treatment it would be standard practice to only transfer one in good prognosis patients.

  • Lucyisfive says:

If an embryo is not developing properly, it cannot survive to implant and become a viable pregnancy, so yes, an UNVIABLE embryo is not kept because it is UNVIABLE (either it fertilized abnormally, or it has stopped growing, etc) Just as it would naturallywe just wouldnt see it happen under natural conceptions, but we know that it is happening then too.

  • Lucyisfive says:

IVF itself (without doing special PGD testing-which is not done routinely in all IVF cycles) DOES NOT screen embryos for defects like down syndrome, blindness etc embryos in average IVF cycles are selected for VIABLITY to first choose those embryos with the best chances of becoming an actual PREGNANCY!

  • Lucyisfive says:

When we talk about the strong surviving in IVF, it is about VIABLITY. In other words, the strongest are chosen to transfer, so that there is a better chance that they will survive to become a viable pregnancy, not to determine if they will be worthy human beings. Along with IVF, couples can choose to do PGD to screen for certain diseases, that does not have to be done, but often the disease that are screened for are ones where a pregnancy won’t happen/or survive.

  • Lucyisfive says:

It is not an IVF mentality that only the strongest survive, that is the human reproductive systems method of working! Every time any couple tries to get pregnant only the strong survive too. You ask how many IVF embryos have to die to allow one child to be born? The answer is the SAME as it would be for a NATURAL pregnancy. As many as needed for the individuals involved to land on a combination of sperm and egg that result in a healthy, viable embryo capable of thriving in the womb!

  • Lucyisfive says:

(out of the usual 10-15 eggs retrieved)How many eggs fertilize is dependent on the quality of the individual eggs and sperm.

Yes, usually only the strongest survive.

How do you think it happens under normal at home conceptions? The same thingonly the strongest generally survive!
That is why the human reproductive system relies on women having hundreds of thousands of eggs and men produce millions of sperm each timebecause ONLY the STRONGEST survive (eggs, sperm AND embryos).

  • Lucyisfive says:

Wow. talk about being uninformed indeed…check your own facts.

IVF does NOT “cause the death” of a lot of embryos. The very nature of human reproduction causes the “death” of embryos…since most human embryos are not viable. Most human embryos are not healthy enough to survive to become viable pregnancies. That is true with natural conception or assisted conception. It is true that people can choose to disard viable embryos…but that is about choice, not the nature of IVF.

Steve, read 2 Sam. 6:23. Your claim about barren women in the Bible is false. Accordingly, you’re a heretic. Next time you burn a stack of NIVs, you should jump on top of them and burn yourself up too.

Amen! Every married couple should hear this.
